Kids and school. This month was Genesis first month of school and I am so proud of her. My little girl is growing up. My husband wanted her in school because of the benefits of being with other kids and all. Well, in all reality it’s a Mothers Day Out program, twice a week for 5 hours. But the Mom that I am, I started by volunteering in the program and ended up taking a part time teacher assistant job just so I could be close to them. Mikey and Genesis enjoy school very much.
Genesis has learned so much with the little bit that she has experienced so far.
I have to say that they are not the only ones that are learning stuff. I have learned as well. I have learned a lot of kid songs and rhymes, toddler games, techniques on how to communicate with them and how to get them to do what you want them to. That’s a biggie.
I tried getting Genesis to look up for the pic. but she wouldn’t. Oh, well I guess that is just something else I can tease her about when she is engaged or married.
This Saturday is our first T-Ball Game. I am so exited but at the same time a little nervous. I tell myself and the rest of the parents that at this level is not a competitive sport and we don’t keep score even.
But sometimes I get nervous because I don’t know how much the 4 year olds know about scores and winning. I know that Mikey gets really happy when we pretend to play connect 4 and I tell him he won even thought he really does not get the concept of the game.
Maybe he should loose one or two connect 4 games and I can try to explain to him about winning and loosing.
Any suggestions on this topic would be appreciated.
I found the nicest picture frames for wall decor on my new house. Sam’s club has them for a really good price. It’s a set of 6 frames but you can put up to 16 different pictures.
I like the clean look and the nickel finish will look good with the light fixtures and knobs.
If I had room in my current garage I would buy them now and store them until we move but I really don’t have the extra room.
They do look nice!
My 4 year old started T-Ball this month and it has been a blast so far. The Round Rock Youth Baseball League started 4U last season. 4U is T-ball for 4 year olds.
My husband volunteered to be the team Head Coach and he is enjoying himself as well. I have to admit it was a bit hard at the beginning but I feel fine now after a couple of weeks and Opening Ceremonies out of the way.
I know that my son loves baseball and I could not wait till this season began to sign him up. He loves the game, what can I say. It’s fun to see all the little ones standing in front of the T and swing. Some hit the ball others miss it the first time. But it is such a blessing to see my son enjoy himself
Last summer, we had a fruit and vegetable garden in our house. In "trying" to organize myself, I came across this picture of the only watermelon we were able to grow the first summer we had our garden.
I have to say that it was very juicy and sweet.
I could not believe how this delicious watermelon came to be. Hines the reason for the picture. One day sitting in the back porch eating store bought watermelon my parents and I were chatting about anything and everything as the little ones played out in the back yard. My Mom started throwing the seeds on the yard and every time she would say "maybe this one will grow". Any ways to make this short story short, about end of August I think it was we were cutting the watermelon and I was taking pictures before we all jumped in to enjoy.
It was GOOD!
The Air Hogs Apache Havoc Helicopter is a pretty standard Havoc Heli accept for the fact that it is modeled after the ever popular Military AH-64 Apache Helicopter. The Apache Havoc Heli is the familiar drab green color and sports the familiar dual cockpit of the original Apache.
The Apache Havoc Heli is loaded with the newest of control software from Air Hogs that gives it more responsive controls.
During Christmas I saw these going for up to $75 each but Amazon has them for an amazing $25 now. This is definitely the best RC helicopter to pick up for price.
You can get it here at Amazon.com or at the link above.

In 2 days the house went from having mud on the drywall to having character. This is a list of what happened in the last 2 days:
- All the brick on the outside of the house is done
- Texture on the walls inside of the house
- Baseboards, door, and window trim in every room
- Doors hung in all rooms
- All cabinets in kitchen, bathrooms, and utility room
- Stair banisters in place
All that in 2 days. The had 4 different crews there yesterday alone. It is amazing the progress that they are making on the house.
I think that they may have painted inside today which would be cool.
Yesterday was the first time that I have walked inside of our house that we are building and didn’t have to use my imagination to see how things would look. The drywall guys covered the last remaining places where there were previously just studs.
They also did a coat of mud as well which gets us one step closer to texture on the walls. The texture is significant because our Forman has told us that once the texture is on the walls that he can give us a pretty accurate finish date. That means that early next week we will know when it is time to move and do some final planning.
We should still be looking at the end of March which remarkably is only about a month and a half away. It is hard to imagine that in less then 2 months that I could be sleeping our new house.
There obviously are a lot of things that still need to get done once the texture is applied such as:
- Final electrical
All of those things are really on the down slope of getting the house done though and if they keep up the present pace we should be on target for the end of May.
Now if only the brick guys would get it in gear and finish…
So it has been about 2 weeks since I post about the progress on the house. During that time the following items happened:
- We passed inspection for Plumbing and Electrical
- The outside brick was started
- Drywall was hung
- First coat of Drywall mud and tape applied
The builder is not wasting any time in trying to get this house done. I think it is because we are the only ones building a house right now in this neighborhood (they are building spec homes). I also think they want to get us into the home before we change out mind or something. Either way they are getting things done quickly.
Here is a slide show of the progress on the house. I am still messing around with various photo gallery websites to try to determine the one that works the best so please be patient.
